New Icom 706 has its first outing

THE Icom IC-706MkIIG bought with the recently awarded £900 community grant had its first airing on two metres at Golcar Lily Day on Saturday. It was in use at the brewery where operators had to contend with local QRM from a band and morris men. One of the first QSOs was with Robert M0PIE who gave the lads 5 and 9 plus on the long hop from Almondbury.
